FS UPHOLSTERY was founded in 2016 by Fiona Sutherland.

She is a furniture enthusiast with a background in woven textile and upholstery design. Whether revamping clients’ personal pieces, or creating bespoke designs for her collection, Fiona loves nothing more than bringing an old chair back to life!

 

" I have always been interested in the technical side of fabric design and achieved a BA honours in Woven Textiles. Keen to become even more hands-on, I furthered my training at the award-winning Wendy Shorters Interiors Upholstery & Soft Furnishings Training Centre under the ASSOCIATION OF MASTER UPHOLSTERERS, passing advanced craft with a distinction. I have since worked alongside some fantastic and talented antique restorers and upholsters, across a wide portfolio of both traditional and modern furniture designs".

   

Whether you’re looking to create a statement piece in the latest fabric trend, or to replicate the original finish of your grandparents’ chair, Fiona will be on hand to provide creative input, a professional service and a personal touch. She works closely with each of her clients from the start to make sure that she creates a design that fits with their vision, style and, most importantly, their home.

 

"When it comes to my own FS collection, I love to combine my passion for beautiful fabrics with interesting pieces of furniture I find along the way. I can often be found rummaging at furniture and antiques fairs in order to find a hidden gem just waiting for a new lease of life, and a new owner! I handpick all of the pieces in my collection and work from the frame up to transform them into the bold, beautiful – and not forgetting comfy – chairs you can see on my website.
